Fleetwood Mac es sin duda una de las bandas de más éxito en la década de los 70. Su estilo evolucionó desde el blues tradicional, hacia un pop/rock suave y elegante. La voz y composiciones de Stevie Nicks y Lindsay Buckingham eran el tándem perfecto en trabajos como Rumours. Grammy al mejor álbum del año y uno de los más vendidos de todos los tiempos.
En él se reflejan las tensiones personales que existían dentro del grupo, y un sonido más comercial sin renunciar a la calidad en las composiciones. La emoción y tristeza del country o el blues, el ritmo del rock y la sensibilidad en las baladas formaban parte de este disco en temas como "Don't Stop", "Go Your Own Way", "You Make Loving Fun" o "Dreams", número uno en las listas de Billboard durante seis meses. Finalizada esta década de los años 70, la popularidad del grupo descendió notablemente, teniendo que esperar hasta 1987 para que volvieran a tener de nuevo éxito con su trabajo Tango in the Night.
El grupo ingresó en el Rock and Roll Hall of Fame en 1998, al igual que su vocalista Stevie Nicks como solista en el año 2019.
